· Linda Johns Scholarship Dinner
· Ice Cream Social/Annual Slide Show
· Winter Carnival
· Robey Basketball Program

How can I get involved with the Robey PTO?

The best way to get involved with the PTO is by attending our monthly meetings either in person or virtually. We also have a Facebook page ~ RobeyElementaryPTO. This page has a lot of information about upcoming events and often asks for Parent Volunteers. Our Twitter feed @RobeyPTO shares a lot of pictures and information from teacher’s classrooms.

A representative of the Robey PTO has a table set up at the Parent Open House events as well as during Parent Conferences (this is also when you will pick up fundraiser items your child ordered to help the PTO). There is no fee to join.

I’ve signed-up to help with PTO activities in the past, but nobody ever called me. What should I do about this?

The PTO would LOVE to have you volunteer and hopes this miscommunication rarely occurs. The best way to reach out is through our E-mail address: If you do not get a response there are a few other options: Come to a PTO meeting, send a message on Facebook or contact the Teacher Representative ~ Cara Schaffer. Her E-mail address is Cara.Schaffer@wayne.k12.in.us.The PTO is an organization that values parents and teachers working together, please do not hesitate to ask to help out at any of our fun events.

What is the difference between a PTO general meeting and a PTO board meeting?

During the school year our PTO meetings fall under the term “General PTO Meetings”. During these meetings PTO board members are required to attend the meetings to discuss and vote on the business of the PTO. Parents, Grandparents, and Guardians are always welcome at these meetings. The Board has a special “PTO Board Meeting” in the summer in which they discuss the logistics of the upcoming year.

The PTO Board meets once a month to discuss the budget, and review the previous minutes. During this time the board members may also vote on certain issues. These meetings are usually held the second Tuesday of each month @ 6:30. Parents, guardians and teachers are invited to join these meetings with the  board and learn about activities currently happening in the school as well as upcoming events. Parents are welcome to ask basic questions and use this time to learn more about Robey. If you have a specific question related to the PTO that cannot be answered by contacting the office, please contact the PTO president, Mike Stone, at robeypto@gmail.com so he can put it on the agenda and be more prepared to help with answers. Our meetings will be held both virtually and in person @ Robey in the media center. We prefer that children stay home as we do not have daycare available. Look for more information each month on Parent Square.
